The Minnesota Dockheads have stormed into the new LTLHL season with authority, posting an impressive 11-4-3 record. With the team sitting in first place in the Mid West Division and third overall in the league, they’ve positioned themselves as early contenders in what promises to be a tightly contested season. General Manager Kieran Green and Head Coach Denis Zorn have found their rhythm, as the team continues to win somewhat consistently. Minnesota’s strong defensive core, led by Rusty and Picklyk, has been a key factor in their success. At the same time, the offensive attack has been bolstered by Bedrich Visek and newcomer Karl-Johan Schmidt Rawley Boney, the team’s assistant captain, has been a key player in the leadership group, breaking a five-game pointless streak last night with a goal and an assist to help propel the team to victory. His performance exemplifies the Dockheads' resilience and ability to perform when it matters most. In goal, Cooper Fornataro has been outstanding. The veteran netminder boasts an 8-3 record, along with a 2.19 goals-against average and a .916 save percentage. He’s earned four Star of the Game honors, showcasing his ability to deliver in big moments. Meanwhile, backup goalie Caden Boteler has quietly excelled in his limited starts, posting a .911 save percentage and a 3.12 GAA in three appearances, including one Star of the Game nod. With key players heating up and the team playing a structured, disciplined game, the Dockheads are proving they have the depth and determination to remain among the league’s elite.
Schmidt has been a consistent offensive producer throughout his 225-game career in the Light The Lamp Hockey League (LTLHL), amassing 130 career points (57 goals, 73 assists). Last season, he recorded 26 goals and 49 points, showcasing his ability to contribute at both ends of the ice.
“Karl-Johan is a player who brings veteran experience, skill, and a strong two-way presence,” said Dockheads HC Zorn. “He’s someone who can help us in key situations, whether it’s five-on-five, on the power play, or in the locker room. We’re excited to add him to our group.”
Schmidt, originally drafted by Laval Redbull, has played for both Trident and Redbull, proving to be a reliable playmaker with 96 Passing, 90 puck handling, and a strong hockey IQ. His ability to create scoring chances and play physically will be a welcome addition to the Dockheads’ forward corps.
With Schmidt now on board, the Dockheads are poised to make a strong push in the second half of the season.

The action across the Light The Lamp Hockey League did not disappoint, with some intense matchups and standout performances. Here's a breakdown of tonight's results:
Several key matchups are set for tomorrow night, including clashes at Chaos Center, the Colisée, and The Igloo. Expect more fireworks as the season heats up!
Dockheads’ Perspective: Betting on Potential
At just 21 years old, Wooten is a high-potential forward who made waves in his junior career. While injuries have limited his impact this season—currently sidelined with a left hip injury until late November—Minnesota is banking on his ability to return to form and contribute on both ends of the ice.
In his junior years, Wooten tallied 122 points over two seasons, showcasing his scoring and playmaking ability. His physical presence and hockey IQ will be critical additions to the Dockheads' top-six forward group once he recovers.
Muertos’ Perspective: Immediate Returns and Draft Capital
Tucson gets an immediate contributor in Timothy Pham, who has had a standout season so far by his standards . Pham notched 20 points in 50 games and has been a driving force in Minnesotas team. Known for his solid two-way play and consistency, Pham could help stabilize the Muertos as they push for a deep playoff.
Additionally, the acquisition of York Kiki provides Tucson with another depth option on the wing, while the two third-round picks bolster their draft capital for future rebuilding efforts.
What This Means for the Dockheads
For Minnesota, this trade is a calculated risk with significant upside. The team believes in Wooten’s potential to be a long-term asset despite his current injury status. If Wooten can stay healthy and develop further, the Dockheads may have found a small cornerstone player to help drive their offense for years to come.
Fan Reaction
Initial reactions from Dockheads fans have been mixed. While some lament the loss of two third round picks and the reliable Pham, others are excited about Wooten’s ceiling and the added draft pick. General Manager Green has assured fans that this move aligns with Minnesota’s strategy to remain competitive while investing in the future.
As both teams look to solidify their identities in the Light The Lamp Hockey League, this trade could be pivotal. The Dockheads are clearly betting on youth and potential to carry them deeper into the postseason rather than the draft.

Remember there are no guarantees in LTLHL
As the Minnesota Dockheads skate into the final stretch of the season, they hold second place in their division and seventh overall in the league. With five wins in their last ten games, consistency remains a challenge. While they’ve shown flashes of brilliance, the team is still searching for the right formula to elevate them to contender status.
A quick look at the lineup reveals the Dockheads’ strategy on the ice. The top line, anchored by Eric Picklyk on defense and featuring the skilled Rawley Boney and Bronson Landrum up front, has been a solid source of both offensive production and stability. With 51 and 38 points respectively, Picklyk and Landrum are core contributors. Brantley Langevin and Timothe Bauman have also been effective on the wing, providing grit and depth with their defensive support.
Special teams remain a work in progress. The power play unit, featuring the likes of Picklyk, Landrum, and Clement, has struggled to convert consistently. With only 22 power-play goals and a mere 0.62 goals per game from the man advantage, the Dockheads are likely exploring options for a boost in this area as the trade deadline approaches.
Dockheads fans are buzzing with speculation about potential moves, as rumors swirl around the league. A top-six forward with a proven scoring touch or a shutdown defenseman could make the difference in close games down the stretch. With the team on the playoff bubble, any additions could be critical not only for a postseason push but also for a deeper run if they make it into the playoffs.

Here is what head coach for the Redbull Michele Renggli had to say “Charlie is most deserving of these two awards his efforts on and off the ice are what made this great club get to the playoffs in our first season. When speaking with both players both remarked that they live for the competition and were happy to have the other guy pushing him to score every night. Dodrescu even mention his next contract should be a good one coming up in season 3.
For the Season One Champions, you’d expect the Portland Twisters to have multiple players throughout the LTLHL award list and yet there hasn’t been a Twister player on the list, until now. Good defense makes a great offense. Outside of being second on the team in points, Michal England had a fantastic year for the Twisters defensively as well and with a plus-33 rating, Michal England is your Season One Plus-Minus Leader.
Although he didn’t win Goalie of the Year, Harri-Juhani Sutelaninen had an incredible Year One campaign for the New York Knights in-between the pipes. Sutelaninen was tenth in wins and led the league in save percentage with a 0.931 and in goals against average with a 2.55. A brick wall on the back end, New York was lucky enough to call Sutelaninen their starter and could expect a strong performance from him each night.
To all 24 different General Managers who patently waited for months for the LTLHL to commence and then stuck it out to make its Inaugural Season a year to remember, thank you! Everyone played their part and contributed to Season One’s success in one way or another. But only one can be General Manager of the Year and who other than the one who led their team to the first ever LTLHL Championship than Portland Twister’s own Boston Stepaniuk! Boston wasn’t afraid to make moves early, after a strong Inaugural draft, to improve his roster and was able to lead a team of misfits to a North West division champion as well, while going into the playoffs as the seventh best team in the league. The Twisters were led by Maksim Rutenka who had 95 points in 80 games. Portland went through the tenth seed in the league, fifth seed, ninth seed, and eventually the fourth seed in the league. They played the most games in the playoffs at 25 games, going 16-9 and winning the Eastern Conference Finals and LTLHL Finals in seven games. In the playoffs, Portland as had Year One’s Playoff MVP, Michal England who led the Twisters with 16 goals, 20 assists, for 36 points, and a plus-21. The addition of Moss, a young stud defenseman with immense potential, injects a boost of talent and depth into the Dockheads' blue line. Known for his defensive prowess, Moss brings a blend of size, skill, and hockey IQ that promises to bolster Minnesota's defensive stability and contribute to their success on the ice.

In exchange for Moss and Boteler, the Dockheads sent defenseman Philip Salenius and a first-round pick in the upcoming Year 3 draft (Y:3-RND:1-DOC) to the Denver Bandits. While parting ways with Salenius represents a loss of farm experienced talent, the Dockheads' management believes the acquisition of Moss and Boteler aligns with their long-term strategy of building a competitive and formidable team. This trade underscores the Dockheads' commitment to investing in young, talented players while also addressing key areas of need, positioning them for success both in the immediate future and in the seasons to come.
