In a thrilling matchup between the Privateers and the Muertos, the game saw intense action from start to finish.
1st Period:
The Privateers started strong with Herb Edmond netting the first goal at 5:22, assisted by Chris Touhey and Guillaume Hanley. They didn't stop there, as Cameron Lodewyks capitalized on a power play just 12 seconds later at 5:34, with Hanley again setting up the play.
Donovan Sorley of the Muertos received a minor penalty for slashing during this period.
2nd Period:
The Muertos fought back in the second period with Dalen Palmateer finding the back of the net at 18:27, assisted by Kody Schutz, closing the gap between the two teams.
3rd Period:
Palmateer struck again in the third period at 6:43, with assists from Luke Vanni and Niclas Saarelainen, tying the game. Both teams faced penalties, with Vanni and Rong-Zilei each serving time for tripping.
Overtime:
Despite intense efforts, neither team managed to score during the overtime period, the best chance was a Wrist shot by Kody Schutz. Stopped by Olaf Patalong, Leading to a shootout to determine the winner.
Shootout:
Ristian Vuojarvi missed the net for the Privateers, but Olaf Patalong, their goaltender, made a crucial save on Dalen Palmateer's shot. Rong Zilei scored for the Privateers, while Patalong continued to shine by denying Kody Schutz. Lars-Bjorn Sundholm, the Muertos' goaltender, made impressive saves on Maddison Bilcke and in the end John-Michael Mcdonough couldnt score and PRI takes the win
Goalie Stats:
Olaf Patalong of the Privateers made 37 saves out of 39 shots, with a save percentage of 0.949, earning him the win with a final score of 3-1-0. Lars-Bjorn Sundholm of the Muertos made 41 saves out of 43 shots, with a save percentage of 0.953, earning him an overtime loss with a final score of 14-5-4.
