The game, held at the Los Muertos Arena, saw the Muertos take an early lead in the first period with goals from Yannick Berard and Donavon Sorley. The Mustangs managed to score a goal in the second period thanks to Grayden Currier, but it wasn't enough to catch up to the Muertos, who scored another goal in the third period.
After the game, Lars-Bjorn Sundholm, the goalie for the Muertos, who saved 36 out of 37 shots, said, "It was a challenging game, but we were prepared. Our team showed great spirit and determination." Sundholm was named the first star of the game.
The Mustangs' goalie, Ruben Junnilainen, despite the loss, put up a commendable performance, saving 34 out of 37 shots. "We gave it our all," Junnilainen said after the game. "We'll learn from this and come back stronger."
The Mustangs' coach praised his team's performance, stating, "Our players showed great teamwork and resilience. This loss is a learning opportunity for us."
On the other hand, the Muertos' coach acknowledged the Mustangs' effort. "They were a tough opponent," he admitted. "We have some things to work on, but I'm confident in our team's ability to keep improving."
The game was well-attended, with over 15,999 fans filling up 88.88% of the Los Muertos Arena. The thrilling encounter between the Mustangs and the Muertos surely left the fans eagerly awaiting their next face-off.
