Monday May 15th,
To say the Mighty Moose have been anything other than their name would be a gross understatement. Before tonight the Moose had skated to a record of 9-11-2 and over the past 10 games been outscored 41-25. Yeah, you guessed it they are 2-8 over that span. The team has looked awful. Watching them on the Ice reminded me of watching my 4-year-old son playing his first year of tee-ball, complete chaos. Unfortunately for the Mighty Moose these are grown men who have been playing hockey their entire lives. They stunk the place up night after night after night. The #1 draft pick has been a complete disaster, there has been little to no chemistry and I swear I smelled Blanton’s Bourbon in the locker room on more than one occasion.... Okay that last part may have been a slight exaggeration, but come on you have to have noticed how terrible the team has played..... until tonight!!! Is this the win that will finally push the Moose in the right direction? Have the guys woke up and decided to play hockey, or was this simply blind luck?
This is why we love sports. This is why we pour ourselves into the club as if we played on the team. This is why we get in heated arguments with lifelong friends and family. This is why we do what we do. Let’s hope for the loyal and diehard amazing fans in Maine this isn't a Passing Fancey (-Brian Griffin).
Stay tuned for more on the Moose over the next 7-10 days. I will be with the team on their upcoming road trip as well as conducting a few one-on-one interviews with players, coaches, and front office staff. Should be a fun month.
As always Go Mighty Moose, farewell.
