New Bedford, Mass. - Based out of New Bedford, Massachusetts, the Cape Cod Stingrays are one of 24 franchises to help start the Light the Lamp Hockey League (LTLHL). On November 19th, 2022, General Manager, Alex Berard was awarded a spot to create a franchise for LTLHL. Shortly after the Cape Cod Stingrays were born. LTLHL debuts on Friday, February 17th with their Inaugural Player Dispersal Draft. Each team will have the opportunity to select the players of their choosing for 20 rounds, giving all 24 franchises an equal playing field to kick off the season and their franchise's careers. From there, 20 more players will be randomly and evenly distributed throughout the league to fill all 24 organization’s Farm League teams. When asked about the draft, Berard said “I’m excited! There are a lot of good players on the draft list, especially some that could give our organization a great starting point to build around and succeed sooner than later. I look forward to building this roster and getting our organization off on the right foot in season one.” The rosters for the Cape Cod Stingrays, as well as their affiliate Cape Elizabeth Schooners, will be finalized at the completion of the Inaugural Player Dispersal Draft that will conclude on February 26th, 2023.
More information about the pro and farm teams will be released at a later date including coaching staff, arena information, ticket prices, game and promotional schedule, and much more.
